Case Study: Honda Provides an Example of What CSR Looks Like

It is exciting to see how many companies have either begun to formalize their commitment to being socially responsible, or are well down the road and have a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in place.  I want to share an example of a well-crafted CSR program; in this case, let’s take a look at Honda from both from an overall CSR program perspective, as well as look at a specific example of what they are doing to try to positively impact the lives of others.

Honda states that their mission is to not just offer innovative products and to enhance “human mobility” – but it is also to inspire their team to find new ways to benefit society.  Along with this, they share that their core values include challenging spirit, dreams, joy, passion and respect.  They have built a comprehensive CSR program that embraces all of this, along with a commitment to supporting their team to be able make a difference not only at work, but also in the communities they live in.

Their CSR program includes four meaningful components: environment; diversity; community; safety.  Please read the following page to learn more about their programs:

An example of the ways Honda is trying to give back to the communities includes a program where they helped more than 50 college students attend the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) 46th Annual Legislative Conference.  To read more about this, go to

Enlightened, caring companies and leaders believe that performance and social responsibility are not mutually exclusive.  Honda is a good example of one such company, where their commitment is not just to selling cars!  They help prove that Everyone Can Win®.

Nobody loses when everyone wins.  #csrmatters #csrtalk
